The Alexander Technique is well known for having a positive effect on

a wide range of ailments.  Most often, people are motivated to explore the Technique by a desire to relieve their pain, stress or discomfort, but there are countless other benefits of being involved.

The Technique is taught widely in music and performing arts schools and is used in all sorts of sports training, where every mental and physical advantage, including the avoidance of injury is crucial.

Turning our attention to the way we think and move in everyday activities can be great fun and in the process we often become aware that there is much to discover about ourselves.  With gentle guidance in finding more naturally-efficient ways to use our mind, body and voice, we experience the joy of reclaiming responsibility for ourselves and our lives.

You can read more here about the way I work, but this very practical Technique is NOT about theory, and so whatever you are looking for: freedom of movement, improved poise, balance, co-ordination and skill, greater awareness, better breathing/use of the voice, freedom of choice, clarity of thought and expression, I encourage you to book an introductory lesson so you can begin to experience some new possibilities right away.

...I do not undertake to “cure” anything or anyone.   I merely look at the subject before me as a damaged machine, note the badly used mechanisms, the imperfect sensory direction and control.   Instead of trying to remove specific symptoms directly, I endeavour to bring about such a readjustment of the organism as a whole that the symptoms in question disappear in the process...
